Every Room Gets Its Own Tree

A real tree claims one corner of one room, and everywhere else in the house gets nothing. This one is twelve inches with legs that hang over an edge — so the desk, the bathroom shelf, the bookcase and the entryway each get a tree of their own.

Sits on an edge with his feet swinging. Long striped knit legs finish in weighted felt boots that hang over the lip — so he looks like he chose the spot himself — instead of standing stiff in a row like every other tabletop decoration.
A face, not a figurine. Two dark bead eyes, a small red nose, two little striped arms, and nothing else — so he reads as a character instead of an object — which is why he ends up getting moved around the house all December rather than left in one place.
Twelve inches from the star down to the toes. A footprint narrower than a coffee mug, with the legs hanging free below the edge — so he takes up almost no shelf while still reading as a whole tree — on a bathroom ledge, a monitor stand, a stack of books, the corner of a mantel.
